Come Thou Fount

Here is only a portion of the hymn that is one of my favorites:

"Oh to grace how great a debtor
Daily I'm constrained to be
Let Thy goodness like a fetter
Bind my wand'ring heart to Thee -
Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it!
Prone to leave the God I love!
Here's my heart, Lord, take and seal it,
Seal it for thy courts above!"

and the lines just before it:

"Jesus sought me when a stranger
Wandering from the fold of God,
He to rescue me from danger
Bought me with His precious blood."

Words by Robert Robinson
Music by John Wyeth

I love that hymn. I think my favorite line is "sing me some melodious sonnet," cause I like Sonnets. But also, the line about flaming tongues makes me giggle. So I like that one too.

You're so silly - but yeah, tongues a-flamin' crack me up, too. :o)

Hey, I like that line too! (the sonnets line). In fact, I've been wanting a good cd of hymns, and one of my requirements is that "come thou fount" needs to be on it. Any suggestions?

I know one by Chris Rice that has "come thou fount," but it is only piano music with no singing. Still, it is one of my favorite cd's. I t is called The Living Room Sessions.
