The Little Gift I Give Myself

I don't know why I thought the world would want to know this (OK, that may be a lofty thought, as though everyone on the planet is reading my blog). But, in the realm of pampering myself, this is as good as it gets. I may not shower every day, don't have a stylish hairdo, shave my legs when necessary, polish my toes only when I realize it's been two or three months, keep my fingernails clipped short, period. BUT - I brush my teeth. Two or three times a day. I brush and brush and brush until I feel that every nook and cranny has been touched. I use mouthwash. For everything else I may not have, I've got some fresh breath. I figure that at some point, everything else can be repaired. But this is the only set of teeth I'll ever get (unless I buy myself a new pair like my mom did), and though I can run down to the barber shop (yes, I said it) and get an $8 haircut, I'm pretty sure that veneers are going for a bit more than that these days. So this is one thing that I will not compromise on. I will have clean teeth. Three times a day if necessary. So, it's not a gift of pampering or glamour, but I do give myself the gift of clean teeth. It's also the one thing during the day that I can do for myself without spending lots of time on it!

That's awesome! When I finally made flossing a daily habit in my life (it took till my late 20's!), I kept bragging about it. And then I noticed you're-a-crazy-person-looks I was getting. Still, I can relate to your feeling of accomplishment/indulgence in brushing several times a day, cause that's how I feel about flossing. Plus, did I mention I floss every day? ;)

Way to go, Boss! My husband read this post and said, in his very dry way of saying things, "You wrote a blog about brushing your teeth. You're funny."
